Our next race is this coming Saturday August 15th. As always gates open at 9:00 and first time trial will be around 10:00. I have not heard if the Grandstands are open yet but, if you have a friend that wants to attend, they can get into the pits as a crew member. They have to enter via the pit entrance. See you Saturday.
In the Gasser class it was the two veterans again. As with the June 13th race Nick DeFeo in his 39 Ford out ran Skip Kazmark in his 39 Chevy ( Jan-Cen car) for his second win of this young season. In the Mod class it was Bill Quay in his 1964 Ford Fairlane (Thunderbolt) holding off Jeff Kerl in his 1968 Camaro for the win. The weather was a little on the warm side but a nice breeze made it bearable. Time trials started at around 10:00 and the gasser class ran their finals at 3:00. Trophies were handed out, pictures taken, and we were packed and on our way home by 4:00. Points have been updated.
Mother Nature won both classes this past Saturday. Vito and his crew gave it a valiant effort but in the end there was no fooling Mother Nature. So on to next Saturday July 18th. Gates open at 9:00. First time trial around 10:00. We are not inviting Mother Nature to the race next weekend. We will be running with The Oddy “AA” Gassers. See you there.
We have some exciting news from Vito at NYIRP about this weekend’s “Nostalgia Weekend” event. The Gasser Racing Series will have our two classes “Both” days of this event. Friday night is the tracks regular IHRA points races along with the GRS Mod & Gasser classes. As these two days are not points races, they are open to all who fit our criteria: see below. Come out and have some fun both days. Gate times are on the NYIRP web site. Entry fee for both of our classes is $40 per class per day. On Saturday, there is also the Clutch Artist’s huge car show. You must enter through the pit gates.

Mod: Up to 1976, No Delay Box.
We have added our race results and Blog to our “Events” page. Check it out at Gasserracingseries.com. Thanks to Larry Ott of the Buffalo News, our winners can also be found in the June 15th edition, in the Sports section. Thanks to all who made our first 2020 race a success.
